While Lao-Tzu was not considered a prophet during his life (604 B.C. to 531 B.C.), his words might be considered rather prophetic as they seem to describe America today:
"The more laws and order are made prominent, the more thieves and robbers there will be."
"There is no calamity greater than lavish desires. There is no greater guilt than discontentment, and there is no greater disaster than greed."
And the greatest greed of all is to be competitively overindulgent in all we have done, are doing, have or desire.
