I think President Barack Obama is an intelligent, articulate man consumed by the desire for power, who also has extraordinary political skills, which he ruthlessly uses to demagogue those who disagree with his policies.
He inspires an intense devotion among his followers and should be considered a powerful antagonist to those who advocate individual liberty.
This outburst of honesty is triggered by having conversations with Democrats regarding the gross misuses of federal power that are now being investigated. One would expect that all citizens should want these abuses stopped and those responsible for the abuses removed from positions of power. That expectation could be wrong when it comes to devotees of our president. After verbally dancing around these issues, the general response of this small sample of liberals can be characterized as "Bush lied and people died." Translation: Because of Iraq, and the conservative refusal to accept progressive economic, social and sexual values, government abuse of conservatives is justified.
For those who sat out the last election because Mitt Romney is a Mormon, too rich or not conservative enough, please do not do this again. The current scandals will be skillfully buried and factually blurred by 2014, but conservatives cannot, once again, sit home on that far off November day.
