What is now obvious to everyone is that the Benghazi cover-up makes Watergate look insignificant.
The testimony from the apolitical, career State Department employees last week was riveting. It is now crystal clear that the Obama administration talking points parroted by Secretary of State Hillary Clinton and U.N. Ambassador Susan Rice, as well as President Barack Obama, were false and were intended to further the aministration's narrative that al-Quaida was on the run.
The most egregious revelation, however, was the testimony that there were special forces in Tripoli, Libya, ready to go to Benghazi and that air cover could have arrived from Italy in time to provide a show of force. Those special forces were told to stand down, and as we know, no air cover was sent. Of course, there was some risk associated with sending these forces and risk is exactly what Obama could not tolerate as he was only six weeks from an election.
Clinton asked what difference it makes now. Well, when you deliberately lie to the American people and cover it up, it makes a great deal of difference to the families of the four Americans murdered and the American people. Both Obama and Clinton received the 3 a.m. call, ignored it and then covered up their politically driven failures.
