To respond to an uninformed letter writer about the surveyor's marking tape on the trees at the intersection of William Hilton Parkway and Mathews drive, I say this: As a rule, the white "flagging" or bands or ribbons are just to identify on a survey which trees are to be plotted. Red flagging indicates the trees requested to be removed. The red-flag request does not mean automatic approval. This has been our area guidelines for decades. A calm phone call to the governing bodies might get confirmation of this procedure and help the gentleman sleep better at night.
