As a Catholic, therefore a Christian, and a churchgoer, it took me a little while figure out the anti-Christian,anti-gun, anti-NRA letter titled, "Where's the cry for the Sixth Commandment" published April 22.
It seems the Bible version of the Ten Commandments and the Catholic versions taught to me are somewhat different. The Sixth and Seventh Commandments are reversed. Doesn't matter, the National Rifle Association doesn't condone either killing or adultery.
The NRA has every right to have its position heard whenever someone is trying to infringe on our rights to keep and bear arms. That' why they're in business.
I carry a gun, am I exempt from the writers' Sixth Commandment? Yes, I am. Her referenced version states, "Thou shall not murder." I have never murdered anyone; I will never murder anyone. Make no mistake, I will kill; I have killed. I will kill again to protect my family or myself should the need arise, but there is big difference between murder and killing in self-defense or in defense of one's country.
My Seventh Commandment states, "Thou shall not kill," but like law enforcement officers and soldiers who kill to protect and preserve our way of life, I believe I will be forgiven come judgment day. Can those of you on the left who condone the premeditated murder of the unborn say the same?
