What I find fascinating are those who sport front license plates declaring where they live (i.e. Wexford, Sea Pines, Hilton Head Plantation). That has to be a really great feeling, not only to be driving a $50,000 to $80,000 Benz, BMW, Porsche, but also telling the unsuspecting world that you've made it and maybe they haven't. What a concept.
With that said, I'm assuming these individuals are being paid well by the aforementioned communities for marketing purposes only. I'd be shocked to learn that these plates were given out for free. Oh, the narcissism.
What I don't understand is why such communities as The Oaks, Chimney Cove and Cotton Hope don't have the same thought process. I'd be proud to tell the world where I live, but only if I we're being paid what the market allows.
Never miss a local story.
