During his latest campaign fundraising trip to Maine, President Barack Obama states, without coming out and saying it, that the federal government can do a better job of providing economic growth than the private sector.
I strongly disagree with this position. I consider that position statement "madness."
This country was built on individual initiatives, from the days long before Lewis and Clark to the Bill Gateses and Steve Jobses of today. This country grew through the hard work of individuals, not the largeness of the federal government.
Yes, there will be ups and downs in our free market economy, but it will always rebound. It will always come back stronger than before with new and better products, markets and new individuals willing to take a chance.
If the country re-elects Obama and his theory of class warfare -- the 1 percent versus the supposed 99 percent -- we will enter a period of economic, entrepreneurial and financial stagnation the likes of which we have never seen.
