What is America becoming as greed propels this country into an abyss of indifference for the general welfare of its citizens?
The lust for power and wealth so clouds the minority movers and shakers, they truly do not see or care. The American dream is a nightmare for the majority. The voices of the 90 percent are obscured by the controlling influence of the 10 percent seeking more, always more.
Is there no middle? A place where the two sides meet, each surrendering a treasure for the overall good?
Ten years of tax breaks have not produced jobs on American soil. Big business is well-coffered now, but rather than increase the work force, employees are asked to work harder and longer. Is it unreasonable, as the family sits around the kitchen table poring over the household budget, to conclude only so much can be eliminated as unnecessary.
Another income is needed to bring home more bacon so that everyone gets a plate of food. That's the solution in Hometown, USA, not in Congress, USA. One faction's goal is the antithesis of Congress' primary sworn duty: " ... making the laws of the United States (which) in both houses (is) the work of preparing and considering legislation."
Those intransigent few blocking a balanced approach to improving our budget and deficit problems violate their oath. Their target is to retake the White House, no matter who falls beneath the wheels of their "protect-the-few" caravan. Is winning a political contest truly more important than the welfare of the American people?
