Kudos are in order for John Dowling, the District 6 representative the Beaufort County Board of Education.
He is the only member of the board to inform the public in a letter to the editor why he voted “no” on holding a $76 million school construction referendum on April 21. You may agree or disagree with him, but he clearly laid out his reasons as to why he voted the way that he did.
Also, be aware that Dowling is the board member who has forced the school district to reveal the ongoing FBI investigation that appears to involve construction at River Ridge Academy and May River High School in Bluffton.
Beaufort County sorely needs more public servants who will protect the interests of its citizens. Thank you, John Dowling.
Never miss a local story.
