I was appalled to see the lame editorial cartoon in the Feb. 28 edition. This atrocity depicts a school child attempting to stop a military tank with “NRA” on the turret.
I would remind the readers that the only documented occurrence of a “tank” being used against legal citizens of the United States occurred in the vicinity of Waco, Texas, on April 19, 1993. This attack was approved by Attorney General Janet Reno. A total of approximately 75 lives were lost on this day, including around 25 children. I can assure you that the NRA had nothing to do with this atrocity.
A 51-day standoff beginning with the Feb. 28 Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms assault on the Branch Davidian church and home outside of Waco ended with the Federal Bureau of Investigation’s assault on the building, which killed most of the inhabitants, according to Time magazine.
