I’m in total agreement with a recent letter concerning seismic testing and drilling off the East Coast, with the exception being the Florida coast. (Protect yourself, and to heck with the rest — a position typical of President Donald Trump.)
However, I have one question. Knowing the position of the Republican Party on fossil fuels (“Drill, baby, drill”), where did those who voted for Trump think seismic testing and drilling was going to be done? Did they forget the catastrophic spill in the Gulf of Mexico?
Then there was the placement of Scott Pruitt to head the EPA, the agency whose main purpose is to protect our water and air. This is the man who had many lawsuits against this department, thus repealing regulations that protected both.
To all voters who are concerned for the coastline of South Carolina, North Carolina, Georgia, Virginia, and so on, remember who put Trump in office and who is still behind him.
Never miss a local story.
Lucky Florida. It received a reprieve from seismic testing and drilling. Gee, what a coincidence.
