A government intelligence agency has provided the news media with inflammatory information about the presidential election. After The Washington Post’s headline, “Secret CIA assessment says Russia was trying to help Trump win the White House,” Some GOP senators took the bait. Headline: “Key GOP senators join call for bipartisan Russia election probe.”
Sens. John McCain and Lindsey Graham — who frequently criticized Trump before and after his election — call for an investigation of Russian influence in the U.S. election. Sen. Marco Rubio tweeted, “Being a ‘friend of Vladimir’ is not an attribute I am hoping for from a Secretary of State.”
Americans, especially those from the Rust Belt, should remind Congress that the election was fair and aboveboard and resulted in victory for the best candidate qualified to create jobs in the U.S., and not about Russia. Congress should be more concerned about an intelligence agency and the news media conspiring to become the fourth branch of our government.
