  • Boxing lost one off the good guys
It is very hard to find any truly nice people in the unsavory world of boxing. As long as I can remember, the sport has been populated with thugs who lie and cheat and would run over their grandmother if it would put money in their pocket.

  • BCS voters bought into Alabama's brand name
Once again, the BCS system has failed. Kind of reminds me of Congress. Both the greedy bigwigs in charge of college football and the self-serving politicians don't get it.
  • Soft Red Sox wearing thin as playoffs approach

  • Braves' Gonzalez off to good start, but will he be able to finish?
Fredi Gonzalez has managed the Atlanta Braves for 98 games. That's miniscule compared to Bobby Cox's 3,000-plus games as skipper of the Braves. So it is way too early to draw any long-range comparisons. But it is fair to say that the Braves, under Gonzalez, are just as good, if not better, than Cox's 2010 team.
