Beaufort County is offering local residents and businesses several ways to assist in the continuing Hurricane Matthew recovery effort.
The county has organized two donation drop-off sites; both are open Monday though Friday.
The site at the Burton Wells Recreation Center, 1 Middleton Recreation Drive in Beaufort, is open from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m.
The site at the Buckwalter Recreation Center, 905 Buckwalter Parkway in Bluffton, is open from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m.
Clothing, canned goods, dry food, baby items such as diapers, and unwrapped toys will be accepted, according to a county news release.
Monetary donations can be made through the United Way of the Lowcountry, according to the release.
This fund is used to support nonprofit organizations providing relief and recovery assistance to disaster victims. To make a monetary donation, visit www.uwlowcountry.org.
