Candidates will vie for Democratic nominations in several Jasper County races in Tuesday's primary.
Councilmen Martin Sauls and Theodus Drayton will face challengers.
Sauls will defend the Coosawhatchie Township seat against Samuel Gregory, a former County Council chairman and school counselor. Gregory made headlines in April for a race-tinged Facebook post about his candidacy that dozens criticized online. Republican Richard Arizillo also is running for the seat in November.
Drayton will defend the Roberstville Township seat against contractor and business owner Leon Smith. Republican Kelly Champlin also is running for the seat in November.
Probate Judge Buster Kleckley faces a challenge from business consultant Rodney Brown.
Treasurer Verna Garvin and Auditor Hazel Holmes, both Democrats, are unopposed.
