Larry Toomer will kick off his bid for Bluffton Town Council on Monday.
Toomer is hosting a campaign event from 5:30 to 6 p.m. at the Bluffton Oyster Factory Dock, 63 Wharf St.
The Bluffton Oyster Co. owner, who ran unsuccessfully for council in 2005, is among seven candidates vying for two empty council seats.
Incumbents Michael Raymond and Oliver Brown are seeking re-election.
The other candidates are Gary Bensch, husband of Beaufort County Councilwoman Cynthia Bensch; Garfield Moss, who ran unsuccessfully for council in 2008; former councilman Charlie Wetmore; and former councilman Fred Hamilton.
Anyone planning to vote in the Nov. 5 election must be registered by Saturday.
