Add one more candidate to the Bluffton Town Council list -- Gary Bensch filed Thursday for one of the two seats up for grabs in the Nov. 5 election.
Bensch is the husband of Cynthia Bensch, a Republican who won a seat on Beaufort County Council last November despite her challenger's assertion that she did not live in the district she now represents.
Attempts Friday to reach Gary Bensch for comment were not successful.
Bluffton council members are elected at large, and the seats are non-partisan.
Michael Raymond, who has been a council member since 2009, is running for re-election.
Mayor Pro Tem Oliver Brown, who was elected in a special runoff election in March 2008, also is up for re-election. He had not filed as of Friday, and attempts to reach him this week were unsuccessful.
Filing for the two seats opened at noon Aug. 7 and closes at noon Sept. 6. Anyone planning to vote in the election must register no later than Oct. 5.
