Rainy weather Monday delayed the painting of new traffic lines and no-parking zones on Calhoun Street, according to a town of Bluffton news release.
Work will now begin Nov. 25 on the town's plan to stripe no-parking zones in front of mailboxes, driveways and fire hydrants on the road between Bridge Street and May River Road. The town also will put a four-way stop at the intersection of Calhoun and Lawrence streets, prohibit parking on sections of Lawrence Street and limit parking in front of May River Montessori School.
The traffic changes were approved by Town Council in October after residents and businesses complained of safety hazards and a lack of parking on the Old Town street.
