One person was killed and two others injured in a collision in rural Colleton County on Wednesday evening, according to the S.C. Highway Patrol.
The crash happened about 7:30 p.m. on U.S. 17A near McDanieltown Road, according to Cpl. Sonny Collins of the Highway Patrol.
A 2010 Hyundai Elantra was traveling north on U.S. 17A when it crossed the center line and crashed head-on into a 2016 Chrysler that was traveling south, he said.
The driver of the Hyundai was killed, he said, and the driver and a passenger in the Chrysler were transported to a local hospital.
All were reported to have been wearing seat belts.
The name of the person who was killed was not released early Thursday morning.
Collins said no charges will be filed.
