Man charged in two stabbings
A Bluffton man was arrested early Saturday morning and charged with stabbing two people at The Triangle -- the confluence of five bars at Hilton Head Plaza on the south end of the island, a Beaufort County Sheriff's Office official said.
Christopher Mullen, 21, was charged with two counts of assault and battery with intent to kill, South Carolina's equivalent of attempted murder, according to the Beaufort County Detention Center Web site.
Mullen is accused of stabbing both victims during a fight just before 1:30 a.m., Capt. Toby McSwain said. Neither victim's injuries were life-threatening, and they drove themselves to the hospital, he said.
Mullen was in Beaufort County Detention Center Saturday night. Bond had not been set.
