Area crime reports

The following reports were filed Feb. 5 and 6 at the Beaufort County Sheriff's Office on Hilton Head Island:

GREATER BLUFFTON

Burglary

• Fording Island Road Extension -- Back door of home pried open and dogs set loose from cage. Damage: $800.

Car break-in

• Southside Parkway -- Window of 2005 Dodge Durango smashed. Damage: $250.

HILTON HEAD ISLAND

Car break-ins

• D&M Towing, 7 Greens Road -- Three cars in the storage lot broken into. Windows smashed and stereos stolen. Damage: $1,600. The value of the stolen stereos was undetermined.

• Fairway Winds -- Global-positioning unit worth $600 and CDs worth $250 stolen from 2005 Honda Odyssey and 2005 Honda Pilot.

• The Breakers, 4 North Forest Beach Drive -- Door of 1997 Mazda damaged. Damage: $100.

Shoplifting

Belk, 24 Shelter Cove Lane -- Cologne worth $112 stolen. A teen was charged with minor in possession of tobacco.

Theft

• Crowne Plaza Resort, 130 Shipyard Drive -- Jewelry worth $6,000 stolen.
