Deep Well eases single mom's financial woes
Celeste Morris is a single mother of two young children on Hilton Head Island. One child needed oral surgery and the other has obsessive-compulsive, attention-deficit and bipolar disorders.
Celeste makes too much money to get government assistance. But when family emergencies come up, she's often short of cash.
She has medical insurance, but the deductible is so high that she often has to pay bills from her own pocket.
About two months ago, the family's medical bills were so high that Celeste was going to be short on her mortgage payment.
She contacted Deep Well.
The agency paid the portion of the mortgage she couldn't afford, allowing Celeste to take care of her children's medical needs.
Deep Well is a nonprofit agency that provides assistance to local residents in emergency situations. It is funded through contributions from the
community.
