The Coastal Discovery Museum plans a family-oriented program on family birding and bird-box building from 2 to 4 p.m. Aug. 13.
Take a bird hike through different habitats while learning basic birding skills, according to a news release. Discover where and when to go birding, how to identify birds, learn what tools you need and how to attract birds to your own backyard. Participants also can build a bluebird box.
Cost is $14 per adult and $10 for those ages 4 to 12. There is a $20 fee for each bird box. All children must be accompanied by an adult. Reservations are required and may be made by calling 843-689-6767, extension 223. The museum is at 70 Honey Horn Drive.
