9-foot alligator captured on Hilton Head Island

Critter Management's second year summer intern and local Hilton Head Island student Xavier Anderson holds a 9-foot, 8-inch alligator in a headlock as proprietor Joe Maffo, right, binds its legs Sunday afternoon. Billy Karijanian, director of operations, said the wildlife control business received a phone call from the Beaufort County Sheriff's Office of an aggressive alligator on Lagoon Road. Karijanian said the gator was removed and later harvested.
