The winners for best old town Bluffton Christmas decorations were The Bluffton Oyster Co. on Wharf Street, Tabby Chic on Pritchard Street, The Cottage and Allison at Planters Mercantile on Calhoun Street.
The winners will receive wonderful prizes from May River Flowers and Gifts, Rose Dhu Nursery, The Garden Gate and Old Town Bluffton Flowers on Burnt Church Road.
There are, of course, many other decorations all over town, so ride around and take a look. After dark is the best time for viewing everything. Thank you to everyone who decorated for the holiday and thank you to the businesses who donated the prizes.
Never miss a local story.
The Oglethorpe Trolley Tours are officially endorsed by the Historic Savannah Foundation. The cost is $15 a person for a 90-minute trip. This is minimal, I think, for a fun outing. The tours start daily at 9 a.m. and leave every 20 minutes or so. After your adventure, you could head to the riverfront and take a free trip on the ferries that go back and forth across the river. And, if all of this hasn't worn you out, there are many restaurants and bars nearby to nip in to for a bite and a sip of something. I offer these suggestions to those who have exhausted all other avenues of gift-giving. I think you would have a great time and your recipient would too.
The tour company is right across the Savannah River just after you have crossed the bridge.

Joan Crawford would have really stood out in that crowd!
Don't hang around where those nuts are!
