A Hardeeville woman was arrested last week and accused of threatening a student on a school bus, according to a Hardeeville Police Department report.
A 24-year-old woman spoke with a Jasper County School District bus driver Feb. 12, when the bus was outside her Hurricane Alley home, the report said. The woman told the driver a student had been bothering her daughter, according to the report.
After the driver told the woman he had received no complaints, the woman came onto the bus and called for the student by name, a bus supervisor told police.
When the student came to the front of the bus, the parent reportedly threatened violence if she did not "keep her hands off her daughter." Police reviewed video footage of the incident and interviewed the woman before charging her Feb. 14 with third-degree assault, the report said.
The parent was released from the Jasper County Detention Center the same day on a personal bond of $1,097, according to court records.
