BEAUFORT HIGH SCHOOL: Kate Samuel, a rising senior, and Sebastian Cardenas, a rising sophomore, will study abroad this coming school year through the Rotary Youth Exchange Program. Samuel, sponsored by the Rotary Club of the Lowcountry, will attend the I.E.S. Tegueste School of Math and Science on the island of Tenerife in the Canary Islands of Spain in September and return July 2014. Cardenas, sponsored by the East Cooper Rotary Breakfast Club, will attend high school in Hoxter, Germany. He leaves Aug. 24 and will return next summer as well. Both students will live with host families who have been approved by local Rotary Clubs. They will be immersed in both the language and culture of their respective countries.
