HILTON HEAD CHRISTIAN ACADEMY
The Sporting Clays team traveled to Camden on April 20 to compete with more than 400 shooters. Drew Davis was the top shooter with a score of 84 out of 100 clays broken. Drew's squad consisting also of Kerry Davis (72), and Hunter Greenwell (79) also placed 10th out of 32 squads in the senior varsity division. Also shooting were: Shaun Poole (75), Matt Crowe (71), Bryce Flowers (63) and Reece Woods (53).
HILTON HEAD ISLAND HIGH SCHOOL
The Seahawk Orchestra and Hilton Head Island Middle School Honors Orchestra both earned superior ratings in the Music USA Festival on April 19 in Orlando. The Seahawk Orchestra also earned the Outstanding Instrumental Ensemble award, as well as recognition for two soloists: Brian Stuligross, violin, and Gavin Harriman, cello.
The PTSO will award scholarships in amounts up to $500 to seniors whose participation and leadership in activities and organizations while at the school has enriched the school community. Application forms are available in the school's guidance office and on the school's website under "Academics-Guidance" and "Parents & Students-PTSO Scholarship tabs." The academy won first place in the "ART: Art from Recycled Trash" exhibit at Picture This Gallery in the Junior Division and was awarded the People's Choice Award, earning $200 for the art department.
