A parent meeting will be held for families being transferred to Bluffton Elementary from Rose Hill Development and Buck Island Road to register for the 2013-2014 school year at 6 p.m. Thursday at Bluffton Elementary School.
Registration for pre-kindergarten and kindergarten will be held at the Bluffton Early Childhood Center through Friday. Pre-kindergarten students must be 4 years old, and kindergarten students must be 5 years old by Sept. 1. Bring your child's birth certificate, S.C. immunization record and proof of residency.

February Students of the Month are: Madeline Metzger, A.M. High School Student of the Month; Phyllis Yu Tang, P.M. High School Student of the Month; Kotaro Nishimura, ESL Student of the Month. Jonathan Johns was named Teacher of the Month.
Students under the guidance of math teacher Tracy Sklarin participated in the College of Charleston Math Meet. There were 53 schools represented, totaling 649 student participants. The following Heritage students placed as listed: Sheock Hyun Shim (ninth), William White (13th), Pear Siriko (100th) and Phyllis Yu Tang (180th).
HILTON HEAD ISLAND EARLY CHILDHOOD CENTER
Kindergarten registration is 9 a.m.-2 p.m. today through Friday. Parents of children turning 5 years old on or before Sept. 1 should register. Documentation required for registration includes the child's birth certificate and shot record as well as a proof of residence.

HILTON HEAD PREPARATORY SCHOOL
After serving many years as an AP Reader in both AP Literature and AP Language, Peg Hamilton has been promoted to assistant to the chief reader at the College Board's annual AP readings in Louisville, Ky., in June.
Select works by Drew Askeland, Christian Steinmetz and Hannah Parker were chosen for the Promising Picassos Student Art Pop-up Gallery and will be showcased at the Starbucks at Pineland Station.
Two students competed at the South Atlantic Yacht Racing Association regatta in Mount Pleasant last month. Matthew Monts received first place in the Optimist white fleet, and his older brother Will Monts was awarded third place in the Laser Radial Fleet.
The school is holding a free soccer clinic for boys and girls 9 to 14 from 10 a.m. to noon March 23. The clinic is open to the public, and no registration is required. Varsity boys' and girls' soccer coaches will focus on the fundamentals of the game. All players should come dressed in shorts, T-shirts, shin guards and cleats.

Elementary students are performing "Dreamcatchers" Opera 6 p.m. March 23 at Magnolia Theatre in Sun City Hilton Head. Admission is free.

Third-grade students will welcome artist-in-residence Kim Keats from Wednesday-Friday. She will instruct students in creating baskets using natural fibers native to South Carolina.
