Kathryn Anderson received her white coat and stethoscope at the Medical University of South Carolina's White Coat Ceremony on Aug. 20 at Gaillard Auditorium in Charleston. The ceremony is a ritual in which first-year medical students don the white coat and stethoscope symbolic of the medical profession. She is the daughter of Lisa and Robert Anderson of Goose Creek and granddaughter of Charlotte and Ernest Anderson of Beaufort. Robert Anderson is a former Beaufort resident and graduate of Beaufort High School.
Seth Konoza of Beaufort was named to The College of New Jersey dean's list for the 2011 spring semester. Students must carry 12 or more credits that semester and have a 3.5 grade point average or above to qualify.
