A Bluffton man was punched in the face after he critiqued the spelling of another man's tattoo Sunday, according to a Beaufort County Sheriff's Office report.
The 38-year-old victim was at Bluffton's Brighton Beach on Alljoy Road at about 5:30 p.m. when he noticed another man covered in tattoos and remarked that on one design the word "Cryp" was misspelled, the report said.
The suspect got up and started swinging at the victim, punching him once in the mouth. The victim told deputies he left the area, then called for help.
He refused treatment, though his mouth was swollen and he complained of loose teeth. The victim identified the suspect as a 25-year-old Hilton Head man, though deputies did not locate him.
