A Hardeeville man was arrested early Saturday and charged with possession of marijuana with intent to distribute, according to the Bluffton Police Department.
Brandon Ladavaf Chalmers, 25, was pulled over by a Bluffton police officer for an equipment violation just before midnight Friday, according to Lt. Joseph Babkiewicz.
An officer saw ammunition in the back seat of Chalmers' car and searched him, Babkiewicz said.
Officers found in his pocket a bag of oxycodone and hydrocodone pills not prescribed to Chalmers, Babkiewicz said.

The vehicle was searched, and officers found about 200 grams of marijuana and a gun, Babkiewicz said.
Chalmers was arrested at 1:39 a.m. and charged with possession of marijuana with intent to distribute, possession of schedule II narcotics and unlawful carrying of a pistol.
Chalmers is being held for prosecution at the Beaufort County Detention Center with bail set at $25,857, according to the jail log and court records.
