A two-vehicle crash on S.C. 170 overnight Saturday killed one driver, injured a 2-year-old child, and forced authorities to shut down the road.
None of those involved were identified in a Bluffton Police Department news release Sunday morning.
The Bluffton Police Department was called to the crash scene between S.C. 170's intersection with Bluffton Parkway and Gibbet Road. The S.C. Highway Patrol was then brought in to investigate.
The child and the driver of the second vehicle were taken by ambulance to Savannah Memorial. Their conditions were not immediately available.

The news release did not say if or when the highway would be reopened, but a view of the area from a Beaufort County traffic camera traffic appeared to show traffic moving again at 9:30 a.m.
