A Lady's Island restaurant was about to close Friday night when it was hit by an armed robbery, an employee said.
A 20-year-old employee said he was sitting in his car outside the House of Tang on Sea Island Parkway about 11 p.m. when two men approached from the edge of the Lady's Island Center.
One of them went into the restaurant, where another employee and the store owner were closing up, according to a Beaufort County Sheriff's Office report on the incident.
The other, holding a handgun, walked up to the employee's car, he said Saturday.

"He said, 'Get out of the car and give me the phone,'" the employee said.
The victim did as he was told.
Soon afterward, both suspects ran away toward Beaufort High School, according to news release. The employee said he heard two shots as the men ran, but no one was injured. Deputies searched the area but did not locate the suspects.
Additional details, including suspect descriptions, were not available Saturday from the Sheriff's Office.
