A Hilton Head Island man was arrested early Tuesday after deputies found him passed out in his car at a Bluffton apartment complex, according to the Beaufort County Sheriff's Office.
The 37-year-old man's Isuzu Rodeo was in a parking lot in Lakes at Myrtle Park shortly after midnight, a Sheriff's Office report said. The vehicle was running and blocking a lane, with its driver's door wide open, headlights on and music blaring, the report said.
Deputies asked the man to turn off the car and step out, but he was extremely intoxicated and would not listen, the report said. When the man tried to put the car in gear, deputies pulled him from the driver's seat to the ground, according to the report.
Deputies charged the man with public disorderly conduct and searched his car. They found numerous cold bottles of beer in paper bags and in a cooler on ice.
The man posted a $262.50 bond from the Beaufort County Detention Center and was released to U.S. Immigrations Custom Enforcement, according to the jail log.
