A 17-year-old suspect wanted in connection with a Bluffton beating that temporarily left a man in a coma remained at large Wednesday, according to the Beaufort County Sheriff's Office.
Anthony Grant is accused of participating in what was apparently the gang-related beating of Stefon Harris, 22, of Bluffton, a Sheriff's Office news release said.
Sgt. Robin McIntosh said investigators determined the attack was a "disciplinary action" after witnesses and suspects said Harris was "paying a debt for being stupid" and that the suspects were "getting him right."
McIntosh said it is not clear who, if anyone, ordered the attack.
