A man arrested in Florida last week in connection with burglarizing a Bluffton jewelry store was returned to Beaufort County Monday, according to a news release.
Danny Figuredo-Torres, 32, of Miami, was charged with second-degree burglary and grand larceny in the Nov. 21 break-in at Pandora in Tanger 2, the Beaufort County Sheriff's Office release said.
He reportedly broke through Pandora's front door and stole about $194,555 worth of jewelry, the release said.
A few pieces of jewelry were later recovered in the area of the Old South golf course, though the majority of the merchandise remains missing, according to the Sheriff's Office.
Deputies used DNA evidence collected from the scene to identify Figuredo-Torres, who was arrested May 2 in Miami. He remained at the Beaufort County Detention Center Thursday, with partial bond set at $50,000, according to the jail log.
