A 33-year-old Hilton Head Island man is wanted in connection with forgeries and thefts committed during the past month, according to a Beaufort County Sheriff's Office news release.
William Morriszie Fuller, also known as Willie James, faces three counts of forgery, one count of shoplifting and one count of second-degree attempted burglary, the release said. Police accuse Fuller of writing three checks to himself totaling more than $1,500 between Dec. 11 and 13, and which were stolen from the home of an acquaintance .
A man police identified as Fuller can also be seen on video surveillance stealing five cartons of cigarettes worth a total of $269 from the Pope Avenue CVS store Sunday, according to the release.
Fuller is accused of trying Tuesday to burglarize H&H Auto, a Hilton Head auto shop, by throwing a rock through a window, causing about $800 in damage. He ran when an alarm was activated, the release said.
Fuller is known to frequent Cordillo Courts and rides a beach cruiser bicycle.
