A judge has ordered a former Beaufort High School star athlete held without bond in connection with his alleged involvement in a fatal Greenville shooting, according to the Greenville County jail log.
Clint Lewis Wright, 19, was arrested Wednesday by the Greenville Police Department and charged with attempted murder, attempted armed robbery, first-degree burglary and the possession of a gun or a knife during a violent crime, according to the Greenville County Detention Center.
Wright, a former local wrestler and football player, reportedly attempted to rob an apartment at the Stonesthrow Apartments Tuesday evening with two other men. That incident led to a shootout with the apartment's occupant, according to a Greenville Police Department news release.
Denzel Hayden, 21, of Greenville, was found dead outside the apartment. Another man was found wounded inside, according to police.
Wright ran from the apartment, drove away and was arrested at a nearby hospital, a report said. A fourth man, who police declined to identify, fled the scene and was arrested at the hospital after being treated for gunshot wounds.
Lamin Yansaneh, 20, of Greenville, was also arrested Wednesday in connection with the incident, the Greenville News reported.
He was charged with attempted murder, attempted armed robbery, first-degree burglary and the possession of a gun or a knife during a violent crime and is being held without bond, according to the jail log.
