Materials worth more than $20,000 were stolen Monday from a Beaufort land- and lot-clearing service.
An employee of Oliver's Bush-Hogging on Schein Loop was inspecting the business' trucks early Monday when he noticed the side storage boxes of several of them were open and items were missing, according to the Beaufort County Sheriff's Office. The boxes had been locked, but there were no signs they had been pried open, according to an incident report.
Missing from the trucks was $23,000 worth of materials, including about 770 feet of copper cables, a chain saw and $700 worth of assorted tools.
Oliver's Bush-Hogging is a disabled-veteran-owned small business, according to its website. Surveillance footage showed two individuals rummaging through the trucks but there were no suspects Monday, according to the Sheriff's Office.
