A Hilton Head Island woman suffered lacerations to the hand, arm and face Monday morning after her ex-boyfriend “slashed” her with scissors during an argument, according to a Beaufort County Sheriff’s Office report.
The victim reported the incident at a residence on Point Comfort Road around 5 a.m. She told a deputy that her ex-boyfriend began to argue about watching the children while she and a friend went to a store. During the argument, her ex allegedly began to threaten her saying he would “f--- her up” and “she can’t save you” in reference to her friend, the report said.
As the argument grew more heated, the man began to strike the victim on her face and arm. He then pushed her onto a couch and threw a lit candle at her, splattering candle wax around the room and on the victim, the report said.
“(The man) then armed himself with a pair of scissors and began to make slashing motions toward (the victim), cutting her right hand, arm and the right side of her face,” a deputy wrote. The woman said she could not call the police because he had taken her phone, so she used her friend’s phone.
Her ex ran away before deputies arrived.
The deputy wrote that he would speak with a judge to obtain an arrest warrant for the suspect on a second-degree domestic violence charge.
No arrest was listed in the report.
