Three suspects stole nearly $8,500 in clothing from the Polo Ralph Lauren store at Tanger Outlet Center 1 on Nov. 22, according to a Beaufort County Sheriff’s Office report.
An employee of the store reported the incident around 6:50 p.m., the report said.
The employee said two African-American males and one African-American female entered the store carrying Under Armour bags, the report said.
The three “immediately started walking through the men’s section of the store,” the report said.
The employee noticed that some stacks of clothing were missing from their regular places as she saw the three leaving the store.
One of the male suspects allegedly said “Do you have a problem?” to the employee as he left, the report said.
The employee replied that she was calling law enforcement, the report said.
The three then were seen getting into what the employee described as an older dark-colored SUV and driving away, the report said.
A deputy who watched the store’s surveillance footage described one of the suspects as around 6 feet tall with a slender build. The suspect wore a light hoodie and white jeans, the report said.
The second male suspect was also around 6 feet tall. He was wearing a red, white and blue Tommy Hilfiger shirt and dark pants with brown shoes, the report said.
The female suspect was described as around 5-feet-3-inches tall with a medium build. She was wearing all dark clothing and had long hair, the report said.
