Naval Hospital Beaufort seeks potential donors for the Department of Defense's bone marrow registry to help those suffering from leukemia, aplastic anemia or other fetal blood diseases.
The hospital will host registration drives from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. March 6 at the following locations:
Potential donors remain in the registry until they turn 60. Eligible donors include all active-duty military and their families and Defense Department civilian employees ages 18 to 60 who are in good health, according to the hospital. Registration is free, takes no more than 10 minutes and includes a swab of the inside of the cheek. No blood will be drawn, according to a news release.
