One person, identified by the Beaufort County Coroner’s Office as Leon Edward Adams Jr. of Beaufort, died Feb. 17, 2016, after a Honda Passport he was driving went off Robert Smalls Parkway in Beaufort and struck a tree. The single-car accident happened around 12:20 p.m. Adams was not wearing a seat belt, according to the SC Highway Patrol.
