A 28-year-old Ridgeland man was sentenced Thursday to 15 years in prison for robbing a Bluffton convenience store in 2010.
A jury convicted Philenza Pritchett of armed robbery, kidnapping, criminal conspiracy, possession of a weapon during the commission of a violent crime, and unlawful carrying of a pistol.
He and Brandon Rolt, 23, of Bluffton held up the Kangaroo Express on U.S. 278 on April 1, 2010, stealing about $200 and cartons of cigarettes and cigars before forcing a female employee into a bathroom, according to the Beaufort County Sheriff's Office.
Pritchett must serve 85 percent of his sentence before he is eligible for early release, according to the 14th Circuit Solicitor's Office.
