A Beaufort man allegedly pointed a handgun at the mother of his child following a argument over custody issues, the Beaufort County Sheriff's Office said.
Robert Ellis Brownfield was in an argument with both the 26-year-old mother and another female, 53, on August 19, Lt. Mike Riley said. The altercation resulted in Brownfield allegedly pointing a handgun at both of them.
No one was injured during the incident, Riley said.
Brownfield fled, and an arrest warrant was issued, Riley said. Brownfield was arrested Tuesday and charged with criminal domestic violence high and aggravated and pointing a firearm.

Brownfield was released from the Beaufort County Detention Center on Wednesday on a $60,000 bond, according to the Detention Center log.
