The suspect in a Bluffton hit-and-run made a run for it early Friday, but not without leaving behind a disabled truck and a trail of cash, according to a Beaufort County Sheriff's Office report.
Deputies responded at 2:35 a.m. to Bluffton House Apartments, where two cars had been struck, the report said. They later found a black Toyota Tundra parked along Buck Island Road, with front-end damage and a flat tire, according to the report. A trail of money in front of the truck totaled $840, the report said.
Additional information on the incident was not available from the Sheriff's Office or the S.C. Highway Patrol, which is investigating the wreck.
