A St. Helena Island couple couldn't sleep after winning $200,000 in the S.C. Education Lottery, so they sat up in bed and took turns holding their winning scratch-off, according to a S.C. Education Lottery news release.
"We held onto that ticket all night," the woman, whose name was not provided by the lottery, said in the release.
The woman purchased the $10 Golden Spades lottery card at the Circle K store at 114 Sea Island Parkway in Beaufort, the release said. Her car was out of commission, so her husband picked her up from work and was with her when she scratched the ticket.
The couple then called and woke up family with the news, the release said .

The Circle K store received $2,000 commission for selling the winning ticket, the release said.
