Two motorcyclists were severely injured in a two-vehicle collision on Hilton Head Island late Tuesday, according to a Beaufort County Sheriff's Office report.
A motorcycle was traveling east on William Hilton Parkway near Chimney Cove about 9 p.m. when it wrecked with another motor vehicle, according a report.
Just before the accident, a deputy patrolling a parking lot saw the motorcycle traveling about 130 mph, the report said. After hearing the crash, the deputy called EMS and began aiding the two occupants of the motorcycle.
The parkway's two eastbound lanes were temporarily closed and the scene was cleared after about two hours, the report said.

The cause of the crash and the victims' names and conditions were not available Wednesday, according to Senior Trooper Hannah Wimberly of the S.C. Highway Patrol, which is investigating the accident.
That information will be available Friday, she said.
