A Beaufort man injured in a shooting Friday in Seabrook was charged with drug and weapons offenses Tuesday after he was released from the hospital, according to the Beaufort County Sheriff's Office.
A handgun, crack cocaine, powder cocaine, marijuana and drug paraphernalia were found on 26-year-old Marvin Huggins as he was being treated Friday for several gunshot wounds at Beaufort Memorial Hospital, a news release said.
He was charged with unlawfully carrying a firearm, simple possession of marijuana, trafficking crack and trafficking cocaine.
Huggins was shot outside a party at a on Detour Road at about 11:30 p.m., according to a 30-year-old woman who brought him to the emergency room.
Huggins was in the Beaufort County Detention Center on Tuesday awaiting a bond hearing. No suspects or motive has been uncovered in the shooting, the release said.
